Salon Etiquette
Q. What type of underwear should I wear for my wax? My cotton night-time undies aren't very glamorous but I don't want to ruin my lacy pairs.
While it is highly unlikely your therapist will get wax on your underwear, there's always the chance of this happening. Disposable underwear is available but if you choose to wear your own underwear then it is best not to wear your favourite pair of knickers - just in case - and choose a pair that accommodates your wax. For example, wear a G-string if you are having a G-string wax, not a pair of boy briefs.
Q. It's been months since I paid attention to my bikini area. Should I trim before coming for my wax?
This is entirely up to you. In regards to a Brazilian, it is wise to trim as it will make the waxing less painful and quicker. If the therapist has to trim the bikini area prior to the wax then this may also cost you more due to the extra time that is needed for this.
Q. Due to the aforementioned lack of bikini-line attention, it's like a forest growth down there. Will my therapist judge me, like my hairdresser "tut tuts" my split ends?
Never! All therapists have seen all degrees of "hairiness". It's just hair to us.
Q. Should I get completely naked for my spray tan?
No, some type of underwear is required for hygiene and protection reasons, whether it be a G-string or full-sized briefs. The type of underwear is up to you as all underwear will leave a tan mark. We can also provide a disposable G-string for anyone who doesn't want to get tan on their own underwear.
Q. Is it okay to fall asleep during my massage?
Definitely! Massage is not just for treating the muscles but also about relaxing the client. If a client falls asleep then this is a sign they are truly relaxed and enjoying the treatment.
Q. Oops! I passed wind mid-massage. Is this common and what can I do to ease the embarrassment?
Massage works on all areas of the body therefore there is a chance that this will happen. Some people may pass wind and if this happens it is acceptable to simply apologise to the therapist.
Q. I really don't feel like talking to my therapist. Can I tell them to be quiet?
Of course! A subtle, polite line such as, "I am really looking forward to relaxing during my treatment today" should be adequate.
Q. I'm running late for my appointment. What's the best thing to do?
Call the salon and let them know. This way they can move around appointments to ensure your therapist has enough time to give a thorough treatment. If we cant move the following appointments then we may regrettably have to cut your appointment short just a little so as to not run late for subsequent appointments.
